Product Management for Tech: NutriLife

In this immersive and hands-on class, we explored the frameworks, tools, and direct experience necessary to become effective product managers. Working in multidisciplinary teams, we evaluated user needs, specified functional requirements, and created a vision of how users would experience our product. Through weekly skill-building sessions featuring exercises and deliverables simulating the typical product development process at a tech company, with a focus on web and mobile applications, we acquired the skills necessary to launch a product successfully for top-notch product design and management positions in the technology industry.

Brief

By creating a valuable and vetted pitch, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the role of Product Management within a technology company and the responsibilities of Product Managers in various contexts, including product characteristics, industry, firm size and market maturity.

Deliverables:

Opportunity Space / Product

After many students pitched their ideas on the first day of class, including me, we formed teams.  There is so much opportunity space in the health and wellness market.

For health-conscious people who fail to establish long-term healthy eating habits due to a lack of related nutritional knowledge and lasting motivation, and/or negative experiences of using existing apps, NutriLife provides a nutrition tracking and recommendation platform for users to improve health by eating healthier. Unlike other diet-tracking apps, NutriLife offers a nutrition-focused, gamified, personalized, and easy-to-use solution and a social community for users to manage nutrition in a scientific and interactive manner.
